Do you see that smile? That smile is pure happiness and if I could I would move mountains to put that smile on my sons face! For his 6th birthday my son wanted a Star Wars party. I’m not going to lie this theme made this nerdy mama pretty happy as well! We spent weeks looking at all the perfect Pintrest parties and started planning how we could make some of those ideas work. We had chosen again to have our party at our local Boys and Girls Club. Our boys love the gym time to run around and the play coordinator and I really love the price! It does leave something to be desired in the ‘ambience’ department but if the kids are having fun THAT is what matters most!
When all our little Jedi friends arrived at the party they got to make this great t-shirt craft I found over at I Am Mom – Hear Me Roar. My wonderful mama was in charge of helping out with the painting of the shirts. We used a blow drier to have them dry by the end of the party to go into the goodie bags. Thankfully we had several parents in attendance so this was do-able but lets say that 15 kids and painting was very ‘ambitious’ to say the least! They aren’t perfect but they are handmade by little hands which is just really the sweetest thing ever. I love the end result and several of the kids have been spotted wearing their shirts to school and play dates!
Next up was Jedi light sabre training…we had a few dress up items left over from our Hallowe’en costumes and of course we have light sabres! Then we were off to the gym to play.
After gym time the kids were definitely ready to eat!!! I found a great Star Wars inspired font on Dafont that I used to make signs for the food table.
Along with the t-shirt I found a few fun Star Wars themed items to add to the goodie bags.
All in all we had another fun, action packed birthday party with lots of busy little kids! It may not have been the ‘most perfect Pinterest party’ but it was great and my son LOVED his day. He was proud to have a Star Wars party and his smile lasted long after the party ended!
