Since my boys were babies I have always given them a book on Valentines day. Reading to them is a way I have expressed love from the first day they came home from the hospital. There is nothing I love more than curling up with my boys at the end of the day with a book and talk about our days. We are always on the look out for new books to add to our home library so they make the perfect Valentines treat with a piece of chocolate and a little toy. I have a round up of cute books for kids to enjoy in time for Valentines day.

I am not sure why I assumed this would be a big format book so I was surprised by how little and cute it was! The projects are range from easy to a little more complex. Quite a few of them require basic craft items most mamas would have on hand. Smashie and I did little heart finger prints using paper and an ink pad. We have hung it as art work on our art board but it could also be used as a small piece of gift wrap as the book suggested. Chronicle Books has all the free printables for the projects noted to help make your projects perfect!

Every child is special and unique, but every child also loves to dream of being something different. Bestselling author and artist Nancy Tillman has created another heartfelt masterpiece celebrating the joys of imagination, and the comfort of always knowing that “you are loved.”And now, this beautiful book, which was on the New York Times bestseller list for more than a month, is available in the ever popular board book format!
Smashie LOVED this board book! I chose it because it had a giraffe on the cover and I knew that in itself would be enough to make him excited to read it. The story of being able to recognize your little love no matter what animal they were by the twinkle of their eyes or the sound of their little feet running is so sweet that it made this mama’s heart all mushy! The animal pictures are so sweet that we both enjoy reading it and even big brother likes to listen in.

Love is all around, if only we stop to look. It’s the voices of the childrenplaying in the park. It’s the cheer of the crowd and animals playing at thezoo. It’s the way a mother holds her newborn child. Love is found on everycorner of the neighborhood, and the greatest love of all is found in the placewe call home!
I chose this one for Bug. He is in grade one this year and he can easily read this book and understand its content. He read it to his little brother and they loved all the bright fun pictures. It is nice to find a book with Canadian content for them to enjoy and be proud of our amazing country.
As you can see the books were a great hit!!! Thanks to Raincoast books for providing us with the awesome new reading material.
