How do you make guacamole even better? Add gorgeous, super food spinach, that’s how! Seriously easy and it doesn’t affect the taste of your guacamole recipe. Bonus points for the extra vibrant green colour the spinach gives to your guacamole and it doesn’t seem to brown as easily. I accidentally tested this by not popping my bowl in the dishwasher overnight-and it was still green! That in itself is awesome if you want to pre make fresh guacamole a few hours before serving, or you could send it in lunch boxes without it being brown by lunchtime.
My guacamole recipe uses Epicure Guacamole Dip Mix but there are many other guacamole seasonings out there just adjust your brand for taster. Really you can use any guacamole recipe you already use and add 1-2 handfuls of fresh spinach and mix it in your blender.
The possible health benefits of consuming spinach include improving blood glucose control in diabetics, lowering the risk of cancer, lowering blood pressure, improving bone health, lowering the risk of developing asthma and helps to promote regularity more! Add that to the possible health benefits of eating the ‘nutritional powerhouse’ – avocados which are said to have properties which lower cholesterol levels, reduce the risk of diabetes, promote lower body weight, and prevente cancer.
