If you know me you know I love a good coupon, not in a crazy, stockpiling way. (Isn’t stockpiling just another word for hoarding?) But seriously, why wouldn’t I want to save money? Coupons can help me to buy items on my list and save money. It does take some time and organization to do it effectively though…until now.
Enter Checkout 51. This Canadian app lets you shop at the store you usually shop at and buy common items at a discounted price. It is easy to do-trust me I am no techie.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Every Thursday Checkout 51 sends out a new list of offers. They are brands that are well known and everyday items. You shop at your regular grocery store and when you are done your shopping take a photo with the app of your receipt. It is super easy to do, the app helps you line up your photo and if you have a long receipt it lets you take multiple pictures. You select the items you bought and send it off for verification. Within 48 hours (although mine have been less than 2 hours) the savings are in your ‘account’. Once you have $20.00 you can request a cheque be sent to you. SO COOL.
My first time I saved $5.00. I bought stuff that was on my list. Nothing crazy. Take a second to at least check it out. It is very user friendly and could really change how we shop.
I may have showed every person in line and all the cashiers gathered around for a little demo-yup I’m a keener like that
Let me know if you’ve tried this app. Have you gotten a cheque back yet, how was that part of the process? Love it? or not so much?
